Medical Assistance & Missional Outreach is getting ready to send our first medical team to Uganda. Which takes money. Lots of money. And with almost two weeks to go before our departure, we still needed thousands of dollars.
So, we started asking what we’d do if the money didn’t come in? Our journey is captured in the blog post, Still.
That was over a week ago. During the last nine days, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to test our resolve. Will we really walk by faith? Will we?
Psalm 20:7 has been a theme verse…the temptation is to trust in the “chariots and horses” of people with the potential to underwrite our entire trip. God has been calling us to trust in Him.
It has been a daily (often moment by moment) choice. And we’ve seen God provide in lots of little ways…pill bottles filled with dollar coins, gifts from people with little to give, checks from people who said God put us on their hearts. Many, many people have helped us get close to our goal.
With just days before our departure, though, we were facing a $3000 shortfall. Which is stressful. And challenged our faith, greatly. But the God who has provided every other thing we needed has continued to provide!! The operating budget is fully funded!
The best part of this story, though, is not that our trip is fully funded!!
It is that we have been able to walk by faith in the journey.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7 ESV
